nicolas villebrun, half of society of silence and acid square dance, is putting out his first solo album on fragil musique, accurately titled « snare roll lp ». villebrun only needed a couple of recording sessions during a short period of time, to put the whole thing out from a unique set up. although an accomplished musician, tite seems to leave his technical skills aside when crafting his music, embracing all the spontaneity one would expect from a techno producer. listening to the lp, the title starts to make sense. when the snares are not rolling, the smooth basslines take over, strongly dragging bodies towards the dance floor. hungry man, move into hell, a white track, and the amazing the bell glides are among those. basslines curved as a horse s behind, subtly swifting through the air, are playing around with smartly spread out rhythms and textures. tite comes up with nine commonly grounded tracks, but with the necessary talent and sharpness to produce a resolutely fine, homogeneous, and yet diversified techno lp.

polish resident lutto lento follows up his debut 12inch for charles drakefords ftd label with this 6 track ep whips for where to now? records. luttos sound places him as quite a unique figure in modern electronic music, showing a fearless work ethic in shrouding his productions in saturated tape loops, and achieving what is certainly a low-fi quality to his sound, lutto manages to never let this lo-fi edge take centre stage, instead this expertly crafted process of tape cutting and looping provides the backdrop to luttos exuberantly crafted yet absolutely dance floor orientated drum work.

denis kaznacheev is better known as one half of the russian duo easy changes. hes also the co-founder of nervmusic. he advocates a very organic and powerful minimal techno and makes use of his modular system on his own and unique way. denis cooks a mix of emotions to your ears and to the floor. waiting for his visa application between siberia and moscow hes been doing some music for us and we love it. he offered to bring us on its journey with brilliant textures and a superb sounding ep.

pawas is someone we have admired for a while for his work ethic and talent. his multicultural background was a nice mix into the equation as we push to bring together and collaborate with artists from various regions and influences.

laurine frost and denis kaznacheev teamed up to syud. their first ep ‘soho’ based on studio tapes which were recorded earlier in a small village not too far from moscow. all the three extraordinary pieces obviously contain modular synth, field recording elements and show the alloy of unique frost-kaznacheev style. tricky rumbling, heavy rolling basslines and crazy concept. joyfully intelligent tunes inside and outside of the dancefloors.

markantonio can rightly be described as one of italys true techno titans, working tirelessly as he has since the late nineties to bring the tougher side electronic music into the light. recording for labels such as marco carolas design music, billy nastys tortured records and umeks recycled loops, markantonio has spent the last 16 years on the cutting edge of quality techno but it was with the launch of his analytic trail imprint in 2001 that he perhaps truly came into his own. the label became a hotbed for emerging and established names as markantonios own productions sat alongside releases from the likes of jospeh capriati, davide squillace, rino cerrone, & paco osuna. away from the studio he established himself as a global dj, taking his own unique sound on to the road, across europe and beyond and garnering fans wherever he went.

whilst he is primarily recognised for his bond with detroit and its varying strands of house and techno, seth troxler is an artist whose taste and collection spreads much further afield. through his own imprint soft touch, seth explores music from way beyond the motor citys borders as he seeks to outlet left-of-centre cuts that touch on interstellar guitar, calypso disco and seductive techno tracks. with the project inaugurated by clarian back in august of 2014, the second instalment comes from the visionquest and playhouse affiliated trio rework who draw from their unique meld of synths and vocals and turn in their lovecall ep

18 months after perseus traxx brought flight recorder his first e.p, dedicated to four of the nine muses of ancient greece, the label now ushers in the second instalment dedicated to four more muses, on goddesses of inspiration ii. the feel is the same as before with jagged cutting tones jammed live then edited down. heavy synths and scattered drums perform an ode characterising the appropriate muses, as tangled wires and a pair of hands wrench the overload of inspiration they give from basic machines. once again perseus release on flight recorder is a unique set of acid-free sonic experiments, that sometimes feel as cold and edgy, as they do warm and carefree.
